Get Kids Growing - My first Vlog! - National Gardening Week Post 4

The theme for today on National Gardening Week is 'Get Kids Growing' so I thought it was about time I got the girls involved in my gardening week posts. They do get involved in the gardening - and Daddy Rollercoaster is particularly good at getting them to join in. They love earthing up the container grown potatoes and planting seeds. They can even be persuaded to join in with the weeding on occasion but this can be a dangerous suggestion as I'm never sure what they might pull up!

They have both known from quite an early age where foods come from and the whole process of growing plants. It is also certainly true that if they have helped fruit and veg grow or even just seen them grow they are far more likely to be persuaded to eat them.Yet another reason why we should have an allotment - you can see our (non) allotment story here.

Anyway I meant to take Little Miss Sunshine out and plant some plants, sow some seeds and earth up potatoes yesterday and then it rained, and rained, and rained some more. So, we decided to plant some seeds in pots on the kitchen table and I had the bright idea to video her afterwards. I think this may make this my first Vlog! How exciting! Here she is telling you all about how we planted some Echinacea Purpurea seeds. (A bargain at 99p for seeds, compost and pots from the 99p shop and the beginning of my long term plan to do prairie planting in one of our flower beds). Enjoy!

Now I'm off to see if I can find a #SatCap that fits with National Gardening Week!

I'm belatedly also linking this up with the lovely Fiona at Coombe Mill for her Country Kids. Even though we did this inside the thought was there! If you have trouble with the video Little Miss Sunshine has also done a Photo Tutorial on how to sow seeds!
