Hi that is a very unusual fruit, but what is it? Is it eaten by humans?
It's called a conker or a horse chestnut - you can't eat them but you can eat their relative the sweet chestnut (there's a pic of them in my last Silent Sunday). In England conkers are synonymous with autumn and traditionally kids hang them on string to play games with them.
Great shot ~ lots of texture and neat colors ~ (A Creative Harbor) ^_^
Beautifully done macro.
