The Year 2014 in photos - Week 9

This week has mainly been about getting Bigger Miss's room painted, sorted and back to normal so that she can sleep in it again (the novelty of sharing a room has now well and truly worn off!) All last weekend Rollercoaster Dad and I painted in her preferred colour of turquoise - banishing all that babyish pink! It's not quite ready for the big reveal (you'll have to wait until next week for that) but she and most of her stuff are back in the room. Luckily at least one day last weekend was nice and the girl played outside all day on their bikes - yay!

The rest of the week was pretty uneventful as I was adding the fripperies so that meant days off were spent shopping and doing things like making the curtains for under the bed (she has a cabin bed) as the last ones were pink - yes I actually made the curtains - me of the non-crafting can't sew variety. They're not perfect but they're OK. The girls were back at school and we had parent's meetings where it seems the girls are doing very well - especially in English (need to work a bit on the maths!) Oh and the sun actually shone for a bit too! Not much time for photo's but I did manage a couple.

Painting with turquoise paint
There was a lot of painting for a small room and Bigger Miss helped out by painting some little photo frames

raising money for Winston's Wish with the Great British Brekkie
Back to school this week and on Tuesday we got to school early to join in with the Great British Brekkie raising money for Winston's Wish - the charity that helps bereaved  children (unfortunately not an unknown quantity in our little school). They did these breakfasts every day and in the first 3 days raised a fantastic £250.

Grasses in the sunlight
I saw these grasses reflecting the sunlight on the walk to school and had to take a snap.
mucking around in the garden
Bit of a silly one but Little Miss decided she was going to dance around a plant pot for some reason best known to herself!

  15. had to laugh at her being nutty hopping round the plant pot, who knows why kids so what they do. The grasses are great, sun just in the right place to catch your attention.

  20. I really like the turquoise. My kids currently share a room, but will have their own rooms once we finish the work on the house so don't know when that will be. I hope it will be late enough that B will have grown out of her pink phase before we start.
