Nov 1st - #NaBloPoMo Post no 1

Well that's done it! What? you may ask have I done. Well I have gone and put NaBloPoMo in the title - post no 1.

I had no idea what NaBloPoMo was until yesterday and now I am joining in - eeek! (Thank you to the lovely Alison at Five Go Blogging for letting me in on the secret!) For those equally unenlightened souls November is National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) where the aim is to post once a day for a month - easy for those organised peeps, not so easy for the more erratic bloggers like me. I believe it started a few years ago with Blogher in the States but we have taken up the baton here in the UK. This year there is a Facebook page and a Britmums thread to help keep the momentum going and I think I'm going to need the support!

I'm not entirely sure why I am going to try and put myself through this but I guess I like a challenge and it should be doable. I am hoping it will make me a bit more organised in my blogging, that I'll learn a few things and of course make some lovely bloggy friends.

Some brave bloggers are taking on an even bigger challenge. November is not only NaBloPoMo but also NaNoWriMo (what the hell is that I hear you ask) - it is National Novel Writing Month. The brave souls attempting this are going to write a 50 000 word novel in a month - yikes! I didn't need to even think about saying no to that one - I don't have the skills or the time for it - so bring on NaBloPoMo - should be a walk in the park in comparison (haha!!)

I was going to blog on our half term for this first post but the whole explanation of what I am doing has turned into a blog in itself so half term exploits can wait until tomorrow - there I have post no 2 already! See you tomorrow! (I'll try and make it a bit earlier - as usual I am cutting the deadline down to the last minute - some things never change!)
