Nov 23rd - #NaBloPoMo - Post 23 - Kopi Review

Now it's no secret that I love a cup of coffee - in fact I cannot function without my mug of coffee in the mornings. You might even say I am a teensy bit addicted. I also like 'good' coffee - you know the proper ground stuff but due to straightened finances (and ease of making lots of cups) the coffee tends to be of the instant variety (albeit the gold instant variety). When I was offered the chance to review Kopi - a new premium coffee delivery service I jumped at the chance.

Two days later a neat little brown cardboard package arrived with  250g pack of coffee and a great little introduction to the service and the individual coffee I had been sent.

The idea behind Kopi is that you get a new gourmet coffee delivered to your door every month - all for the princely sum of £7/month. This way you get to try different coffees and different roasts every month. So what do you get for your £7? Well a foil wrapped, resealable bag of coffee (you can choose either ready ground or beans) and a tasting card with notes on the provenance of the coffee, notes on the taste and roast and suggestions for serving.

I was sent a bag of a Guatemalan coffee from Finca Santa Clara. The little card that comes with the coffee tells you all about where it comes from and how it is grown. The coffee itself comes in a foil bag with one of those little gadgets in so that you can smell the coffee without opening it. The bag has a wide bottom so it can stand up and a resealable top that really works. The coffee itself was extremely good with a great taste whilst being smooth and mellow at the same time. Very different from my usual stuff!

Would I subscribe top this service? Well in my current circumstances no but if money was a bit more plentiful certainly. I think it is pretty good value - you get a decent sized pack of coffee every month - enough to enjoy at least 1 or 2 cups every weekend. The coffee is excellent and it's delivered to your door. If you would like to find out more or to subscribe go to www.kopi.co.uk.

I was offered to review this product in conjunction with Fuelmyblog. I received this product free of charge but any opinions or comments are entirely my own

  1. Mmmm, I love a good cup of coffee but sadly I too tend to stick with (a good) instant due to finances.

It does sound like a pretty good deal though and something to bear in mind.
