'Crew ship' Southampton - 52 Photo Project - Week 14

What with half term and me starting to do some proper work again it's been a bit of a busy week. We have had two days out as well as some lazy at home days but I somehow haven't taken that many photos. The only day that I really took any was when we joined Daddy on his commute to Southampton so he could go to work and the girls and I got to do some more fun stuff on a bargain day out. (Petrol saving, cheap cinema, restaurant vouchers and Ikea hot dogs!)

It was an early start as we had to all leave the house by 7.30am - somehow we managed it! Once we had deposited Daddy at work we toddled off to the shops - mainly to spend Little Miss Star's birthday voucher in Next which made her feel very grown up! She is even wearing two of her purchases in the picture! Once Little Miss Sunshine had had enough of the shops we took the weight off our feet at the Odeon Kids screening of Puss in Boots (I think I may have enjoyed it more than them though!)

Next on the itinerary was lunch so we could meet up with Daddy and refuel (aided by restaurant vouchers). Daddy then returned to work and we set off on a mini expedition to see the Cunard Queen Victoria which was in fact the main aim of the whole day. Why you may ask? Well we are going to be travelling on said ship in August (no, we haven't won the lottery but we did get a deal) and the girls are very excited at the prospect of going on a 'crew' boat as the they call it so we thought it would be cool to go and see it when it was moored in Southampton so they could see how big it is. The photo is them with the Queen Victoria in the background. We did get a lot closer after a long trek but this was a better photo.

They were rewarded after the trek with a trip to the playground and then more play at Smaland in Ikea while Mummy had a bit of peace to soak up the Ikea vibes. At last Daddy finished work and with a tea of bargain Ikea hotdogs and ice cream we all finally got to go home and to bed!

  1. Great photo. They look so happy in the foreground and so small too compared to the massive ship behind. It sounds like a lovely day.

  2. It's an enormous boat. I got sent a cruise brochure through the post and for quite a while it was my son's favourite book. Bet you're looking forward to that holiday.
