I had a bit of a thought about this - maybe grasses or green and then of course the solution was obvious - the #alphabetphoto for G has to be for...
Garden
I have been meaning to do a post with a few of the photos from my morning in the Petersfield Physic Garden for a while now so this was a perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone so apologies to the #alphabetphoto people - there may be rather more photos than usual and for the garden people there are less close up flowers!
Petersfield Physic Garden is a small garden in the middle of the country town of Petersfield in Hampshire - it is run by volunteers and is a wee oasis of calm in a busy town. Physic gardens were very popular in the 16th and 17th centuries and were mainly for the study of plants and herbs for their medicinal uses. This one is mainly walled and even though I went when it was just waiting to burst into flower it was still delightful. Gardens are definitely good for the soul.

ReplyDeletePretty walled garden, I could explore for ages around there. I want that door - looks like it should be guarded, like something in a castle.

ReplyDeleteOh that is funny. I was scrolling down and reading and thinking that it looked familiar. I went all the way back up and scrolled down again before I realised that yes, I've been there... but it must be years ago! Just lovely. I want to sit there and soak up the sunlight and greenness and peace (especially tomorrow, when there will be none of the above in our house!) Rx
