We won some tickets from Aviva and as Little Miss Star seems to be enjoying her tag rugby at school it seemed a great opportunity to go and see some 'real' rugby. It's not often you get a chance to take small children to Wembley. I have never ever been to Wembley Stadium (the old one or the new one) , husband had been to the old one and we thought it would be a great experience to take the kids too. The match was a club rugby match between Saracens and Harlequins and there was the added attraction of McFly playing before the match and at half time. Little Miss Star is only just getting into her music but she did rather like Harry on Strictly Come dancing last year!
However the weirdest and most memorable part of the whole trip was yet to come. We had pottered our way through London to get there, stopping enroute in Regents Park and picniking (the eating kind not the photo kind!) outside London Zoo near the camels. We arrived just as the prematch entertainment got underway and nearly fell down the rather steep stairs in shock to find my husbands brother, his wife and their two girls in the seats next to ours. They live in Shropshire, we live in Hampshire and neither of us knew the other one was going to be there - just how strange a coincidence is that - out of over 83,000 people and of all the places we could be. They had also won tickets with Aviva and we can only assume they assigned the tickets alphabetically!
So here's the photo - not necessarily the best photo taken this week but quite definitely the most memorable and it will no doubt be talked of for years to come. The girls will now never forget their first trip to Wembley! Thank you Aviva!
